WSWA Cancels Annual Convention, Will Host Online “Brand Battle” Tournament

The Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) has canceled the upcoming 78th annual WSWA Convention, which was slated to be held April 6-9 in Orlando, in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. In place of the traditional, in-person convention, WSWA will host an online version of the convention’s popular Brand Battle Tournament featuring 40-50 brands spread across eight categories (vodka/gin, Tequila/mezcal/cachaça, whiskey/whisky/Bourbon/Scotch, ready-to-drink/hard seltzer, rum, cordial/liqueur/after dinner drink, low-alcohol/no-alcohol/mixer, and wine). The tournament will take place every Tuesday from June through August, capping with the final round in September. The application is open through May 1.—Shane English
