Rising RTD Player Canteen Spirits Bolsters Capacity

Austin, Texas-based Canteen Spirits is set to open a new 50,000 square foot production facility, as demand continues to rise sharply for its RTD portfolio. Canteen recently earned Impact “Hot Brand” honors after jumping from 90,000 cases in 2019 to more than 500,000 cases last year.

The company’s new Austin facility is slated to be fully operational by June. It will bolster capacity for both Canteen’s namesake vodka sodas as well as sister brand Cantina Tequila sodas. Canteen is now present in 50,000 accounts across all 50 states, while Cantina, which launched just recently, is already in 10,000 accounts in 42 states.

Altogether the company is planning to produce about 4 million cases of Canteen, Cantina, and related products over the next 12 months. To further its national expansion, Canteen recently raised $31 million in financing led by Austin-based venture capital firm ATX.—Daniel Marsteller
