Diageo Ups RTD Capacity In The U.S. On $110 Million Investment

Diageo North America has opened a new facility in Plainfield, Illinois, Diageo Lincolnway, which will boost its capacity in the fast-growing RTD category. The $110 million investment includes two new high-speed can lines to support the development of Diageo’s RTD portfolio and its growth strategy in the convenience category.

Diageo Lincolnway will have the capacity to annually produce more than 25 million cases of malt-based Lone River Ranch Water and Smirnoff seltzers and spirits-based RTD cocktails from Crown Royal and Ketel One Botanical Vodka Spritz. According to Impact Databank, Crown Royal’s cocktails depleted 975,000 9-liter cases in the U.S. last year, while Ketel One’s RTDs reached 400,000 cases.
