Chip Wade Named CEO Of USHG, Danny Meyer To Remain Executive Chairman
August 2, 2022Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) has appointed Chip Wade as chief executive, effective September 6. Wade, who joined the restaurant group in 2019 as president and COO, replaces founder Danny Meyer in the CEO role. Meyer will remain executive chairman of USHG, whose brands include The Modern, Gramercy Tavern, Maialino, and Daily Provisions, among others.
Prior to joining USHG, Wade spent 17 years in leadership with Red Lobster and Darden Restaurants, and also served as COO for Legal Sea Foods. “When Chip joined us three years ago, our hope was that he’d one day be prepared to succeed me as USHG’s leader, and that day has unquestionably arrived,” said Meyer in a statement.—Daniel Marsteller
