Reyes Beer Division Acquires Texas’ Capitol Wright Distributing

Rosemont, Illinois’ Reyes Beer Division has acquired Capitol Wright Distributing of Texas. Terms weren’t disclosed, and the purchase is set to close in December. The move adds 16 million cases to Reyes and over 5,000 new customers across the Lone Star State. “The industry continues to grow and change in many ways, and we are well-positioned for the dynamic environment that’s in front of us. With Capitol Wright Distributing’s successful history of acquisitions, I am confident that the coming together of our teams will lead to even more success,” said Tom Day, CEO of Reyes Beer Division.

In Texas, Reyes will operate as Capitol Reyes Distributing and will handle big national brands like Diageo’s beer portfolio, and the beers of Molson Coors, Pabst, Mike’s, Boston Beer, Heineken USA, and Constellation, among others. In addition, Capitol Reyes will distribute local and craft brands like Thirsty Planet and Saint Arnold.

Reyes’ expansion into Texas marks the eleventh state in the Beer Division’s footprint. The company also operates in California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. In all, Reyes Beer Division distributes nearly 300 million cases to over 100,000 accounts across the U.S.—Shane English
