Craft Brewing and Distilling News for October 26
October 26, 2022•Denver, Colorado’s Laws Whiskey House has released its second batch of Cognac Cask Finished Bourbon. The whiskey is made from spirits aged between three and eight years using a Solera system, allowing older portions of the blend to marry with younger batches. In all, the whiskey ages in three different types of oak: initially in new American oak before a portion is matured in Cognac casks. Finally, the whiskey is transferred to a French foeder, which serves as the Solera. Laws’ Cognac Cask Finished Bourbon carries a suggested price of $80 a 750-ml. and 2,340 bottles will be released this year.
