April 6, 2023•Spanish wine group Raventós Codorníu has appointed RNDC as its exclusive distributor across 27 states and Washington, D.C., effective April 1. RNDC will handle the portfolios of the 15 wineries that make up Raventós Codorniu, which are spread across Spain, Argentina, and California and total nearly 7,500 acres. “With this tactical agreement, we further our mission to accelerate growth for the Raventós Codorníu portfolio and deliver the very best sustainable, luxury wines and Cavas to consumers all across the U.S.,” said Sergio Fuster, CEO of Raventós Codorníu.
•Winebow Imports is adding Arbikie Highland Estate, a producer of Scottish vodka, gin, and whisky, to its portfolio. Winebow will handle Arbikie’s Tattie Bogle Vodka, Haar Vodka, Strawberry Vodka, Chilli Vodka, Nàdar Gin, Nàdar Vodka, Kirsty’s Gin, AK’s Gin, Highland Rye, and Highland Rye 1794, with inventory available nationally as of July 1. Arbikie is owned by the Stirling family, with all ingredients for its spirits—including strawberries, potatoes, juniper, and honey—sourced from the family’s 2,000-acre estate.
•Scheid Family Wines founder Al Scheid passed away March 31 at the age of 91. Scheid founded his family wine company in Monterey in 1972. Under his leadership Scheid Family Wines evolved from a grape grower to a wine company producing close to 1 million cases of wine annually. Most recently the company has become a key player in better-for-you wines with its Sunny With A Chance of Flowers label, and is run by two of Al’s children, Scott and Heidi Scheid.
