Campari Invests $161 Million In New Wild Turkey Distillery
April 6, 2023Campari Group is set to add a second distillery at its Wild Turkey campus in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky on an investment of $161 million. The new facility will produce five million additional proof gallons of Wild Turkey Bourbon annually, significantly increasing the current capacity from nine million to 14 million proof gallons. It will be located adjacent to the company’s existing distillery.
“Since 2009, when Campari Group acquired the Wild Turkey Distillery, we have significantly invested in the Bourbon category, which now represents Campari Group’s second major leg after the aperitif portfolio,” said Campari America managing director Ugo Fiorenzo. “This expansion project confirms, once again, our commitment to this category and it will allow for the continued growth of the Wild Turkey and Russell’s Reserve franchise, both in the United States and internationally.” Wild Turkey grew 7% to just under 900,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank, excluding flavor offshoot American Honey.—Daniel Marsteller
