Diageo Debuts Distillers Edition Single Malts
April 18, 2023Diageo has unveiled the 2023 Distillers Edition of single malt Scotch whiskies finished in a variety of barrels for secondary maturation. This year’s collection of six whiskies is sourced from the Lagavulin, Talisker, Cragganmore, Oban, Dalwhinnie, and Glenkinchie distilleries.
The Lagavulin release is finished in Pedro Ximenez-seasoned casks, bottled at 43%, and carries a suggested price of $125. Oban’s entry is finished in Montilla Fino-seasoned casks, bottled at 43%, and retails at $95. Talisker’s whisky is finished in Amoroso-seasoned casks before bottling at 45.8% abv with a suggested price of $85. The Cragganmore release comes in at 40% abv and is finished in Port-seasoned casks, retail positioned at $85.
The final two whiskies, from Dalwhinnie and Glenkinchie, are both bottled at 43% abv, with the former finished in Oloroso-seasoned casks and the latter in Amontillado-seasoned casks. The pair retail for $90 and $85, respectively. All six new single malt Scotch whiskies are now available in limited quantities across the U.S.
