June 28, 2023•Canned RTD and Tequila brand Casa Azul has announced its latest celebrity partner, golfer Michelle Wie West. Wie West joins the brand alongside other famous investors like football player Travis Kelce and actress Eiza González. Casa Azul was launched by beverage entrepreneur Lance Collins—creator of Fuze, Core Hydration, and Bodyarmor—in August 2022 with its original line of Tequila sodas and also entered the straight Tequila market this March. The straight Tequila is distributed by RNDC and launched with Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo offerings, priced at $69, $89, and $129, respectively.
•Champagne Billecart-Salmon is launching its newest prestige cuvée, Louis Salmon 2009. Louis Salmon is named after the first chief winemaker of the family house. Sourced from 100% Chardonnay Grands Crus of select plots from the Côte des Blancs terroir (Cramant, Chouilly, and Mesnil-sur-Oger), it retails at $220 and will be rolling out nationally in the coming weeks. Billecart-Salmon has U.S. volume of approximately 25,000 9-liter cases annually, according to Impact Databank.
•Knights Valley, Sonoma-based Peter Michael Winery has promoted Lindsey Stowe to general manager. Stowe joined Peter Michael as controller in 2018 and was promoted to CFO in 2020. She’ll now follow in the footsteps of departing general manager Stuart Bockman, who has been with the winery for over 15 years. Led by second-generation vintner Paul Michael and his wife Emily, Peter Michael Winery has three estates: Knights Valley (Sonoma County), Seaview (West Sonoma Coast), and Oakville (Napa Valley), totaling nearly 1,200 acres with 201 acres under vine.
