July 11, 2023•Delicato Family Wines is a launching a new entry from its 1924 brand, a Whiskey Barrel-Aged Red Blend. The new 1924 Whiskey Barrel-Aged Red Blend joins the 1924 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon and Port Barrel-Aged Pinot Noir in the brand’s spirit-aged portfolio. Composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, the Cabernet-dominant blend is aged in premium whiskey barrels for a minimum of 60 days. It’s launching nationally, retailing at $22 a 750-ml. 1924 was at 220,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Bacardi-owned Cazadores Tequila is introducing Cazadores Café, a new coffee liqueur. Debuting nationwide, the newcomer is a blend of Cazadores Blanco Tequila made with 100% agave, roasted coffee, and agave nectar. Bottled at 33% abv, it’s hitting all major retailers including Drizly, ReserveBar, and others this month at a suggested retail price of $30 a 750-ml. bottle. Cazadores Tequila grew 26% to 759,000 cases in the U.S. last year, earning Impact “Hot Brand” honors.
•Frey Ranch is releasing Farm Strength Uncut Bourbon. Bottled at cask strength, the new non-chill filtered, small batch whiskey is produced using 100% slow-grown grains that are harvested, milled, and distilled on the Frey Ranch farm in Nevada. The new entry uses the same mash bill as the flagship four grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey: 66.6% Dent Corn, 10% Winter Wheat, 11.4% Winter Rye, and 12% Two Row Barley. Available in California and Nevada at $80 a 750-ml., it will expand to Arizona, Ohio, and Georgia as well this year.
