Wine Spectator: Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi Acquires Oregon’s Domaine Roy & Fils
July 25, 2023European wine leaders continue to see potential in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Executives at Italian wine company Marchesi Frescobaldi announced yesterday that they have signed an agreement to purchase Domaine Roy & Fils in Oregon’s Dundee Hills for an undisclosed price. The estate includes 40 acres of vineyards planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It’s the company’s first U.S. winery.
“We want to send a message to the largest wine market, the United States, that we don’t just want to sell wines there, but also produce them there,” Marchesi Frescobaldi president Lamberto Frescobaldi told Wine Spectator. “We had the opportunity and I said to myself, ‘Life is moving too fast, so let’s do it.’” Wine Spectator has the full story.
