•Spirit of Gallo’s Don Fulano Tequila has released a new limited-edition Añejo bottling in celebration of the brand’s 20th anniversary. The 44.4% abv Tequila is a blend of three batches of Añejo and extra Añejo spirits matured in Oloroso and Amontillado Sherry casks. This is a one time only release. The 20th Anniversary Añejo will be available in limited quantities in California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, and Hawaii for a suggested price of $200 a bottle.
•Scottish gin brand Lind & Lime has launched in the U.S. through Preiss Imports. The 44% abv London Dry gin is made with juniper, coriander, angelica, licorice, orris, lime peel, and pink peppercorns, and is produced using green electricity. The brand is now available in Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Utah.
•Tequila brand Dulce Vida has been named the official Tequila of the University of Texas Athletics, as well as the school’s alumni association, Texas Exes, and Texas Performing Arts. The deal will bring the brand to the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, home of the Longhorns, via the Dulce Vida Tequila bar. The brand will also be served at Texas Exes events and the Bass Concert Hall, where touring Broadway shows, among other performances are held. Dulce Vida is part of the Milestone Brands portfolio.
•Novo Fogo has launched Drinkee, a new passion fruit flavored cachaça inspired by brand investor and dance music duo Sofi Tukker. The 41% abv spirit is named for one of the duo’s songs and carries a suggested price of $32. The new release joins Novo Fogo’s line of unaged and barrel-aged cachaças, which are matured in a variety of different barrel types. The brand is available across the U.S. through 375 Park Avenue Spirits.
•Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits is donating a total of $50,000 to two charities, Maui Strong Fund – Hawaii Community Foundation and Kokua Restaurant & Hospitality Fund for Maui, to support relief efforts in Maui after the recent wildfires. Maui Strong Fund – Hawaii Community Foundation is providing financial resources with a focus on rapid response and recovery. Kokua Restaurant & Hospitality Fund for Maui provides immediate assistance to restaurant, bar, and hospitality workers displaced by wildfires. In addition to the corporate donation, grassroots efforts have been led by Southern Glazer’s employees to raise nearly $50,000 for a fellow team member who lost their home during the disaster.
