Bacardi Debuts New Cask Finish Release, Reserva Ocho Sevillian Orange

Bacardi rum is launching the third installment of its limited-edition cask finish series, Bacardi Reserva Ocho Sevillian Orange Cask Finish. The newcomer follows two previous launches, Sherry Cask and Rye Cask Finish, and continues the five-year aged rum series that will see Bacardi launch a new cask finish offering annually through 2025.

Bacardi Reserva Ocho Sevillian Orange Cask Finish is aged at least eight years in American oak barrels and finished for an additional three to six months in Vino de Naranja casks from Seville, Spain. The 45% abv offering retails at $35 a 750-ml. and is rolling out nationwide.

Bacardi will market Sevillian Orange Cask as an alternative spirit to Bourbon in Old Fashioned cocktails. Bacardi rum had U.S. volume of 6.6 million cases last year, ranking fifth among all spirits brands, according to Impact Databank.—Daniel Marsteller
