Foley Relaunches Charles Goodnight Bourbon

Foley Family Wines is reintroducing Charles Goodnight Bourbon ($80), Distilled and aged in Texas, the revamped whiskey is upping the ante with a higher proof and a new bottle design. The new Charles Goodnight Texas Bourbon is a 6-year-old, non-chill filtered whiskey bottled at a barrel-strength 115 proof. It has a mashbill of 60% Texas-grown yellow #2 corn, 36% unmalted rye, and 4% barley.

“I take great pride in the fact that my great, great uncle was legendary cattleman and Texan, Charles Goodnight,” said Foley Family Wines founder Bill Foley. “Pulling barrels from my commissioned private stock has given me inspiration to craft a true Texas whiskey that pairs as perfectly with a well-prepared steak as a bold Napa Cab does.” The relaunched brand is currently available at spirits retailers across the U.S.—Daniel Marsteller
