The 47th Annual Impact Marketing Seminar: Industry’s Top Executives Gather In New York
October 5, 2023M. Shanken Communications, Inc., New York, held the 47th Annual Impact Marketing Seminar yesterday, assembling leading executives from across the drinks business. The industry’s power players convened at The Pierre in New York City for a packed program at the sold-out event, hosted by M. Shanken Communications chairman Marvin R. Shanken. The latest edition of the Seminar featured presentations from top executives across the supplier, wholesaler, and retailer tiers of the business.
Shanken opened the event, welcoming the audience to the 47th annual edition of drinks industry’s signature summit. The morning program featured thought leaders from around the business.
The speakers included Tony Latham, regional president, North America at Bacardi Ltd, discussing the topic, “Targeting the New Beverage Consumer”; Jessica Spence, president of North America at Beam Suntory, on “Beam Suntory’s Vision for the Future of Whiskey vs. Tequila”; Ugo Fiorenzo, managing director, business unit Americas at Campari Group, on “Maximizing Opportunity with a Diversified Portfolio”; Ed Pilkington, chief marketing and innovation officer at Diageo North America, on “Spirited Innovation as the Key to Growth”; Phil Markert, director of liquor at Vons, Albertsons, and Pavilions, on “The New Consumer for Tomorrow’s Wine & Spirits Market: A Chain Retailer’s Perspective”; Francis Creighton, president and CEO of the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, on “In Defense of the Three-Tier System”; and Dan White, chief of new revenue streams at Coca-Cola North America, on “Creating New Partnership Bridges for Beverage Alcohol.”
After the morning program, Seminar attendees gathered for a Champagne reception followed by a luncheon in The Pierre’s Cotillion Room. Following the meal, NFL Hall of Famer and television personality Michael Strahan was announced as the special luncheon speaker, conversing with Shanken on a host of topics before taking questions from the audience.
The 48th Annual Impact Marketing Seminar will be held next year, with the date to be announced in due course.
