November 7, 2023•Nevada regulators have approved consumption lounges for multi-state operators Curaleaf and Green Thumb Industries. Curaleaf is aiming to open an on-premise space alongside its Reef Dispensary located just off the Strip, Business of Cannabis reported, while Green Thumb is planning one adjacent to its Cookies on the Strip location. Other companies recently approved for conditional licenses for consumption lounges in Nevada include Desert Evolution, Higher Archy, NevadaPure, and TGIG. Local player Planet 13 is targeting April 20 of next year to open its 3,000-square-foot Dazed consumption lounge on the Strip.
•Ohio voters will take up a referendum today that would open a new recreational market in the Midwest, where key states like Michigan, Illinois, and Minnesota have already legalized. A study by Columbus-based Scioto Analysis found that legalization could add $260 million to the state economy annually on a net basis. The market is projected to eventually reach into the billions of dollars. According to a recent survey 57% of Ohioans plan to vote yes to legalize sales to those over 21 years old on the ballot initiative, Issue 2. The poll, run by Baldwin Wallace University Community Research Institute, shows solid majorities of Democrats and independents (66.4% and 58.6%) support legalization and that the initiative has a slim majority of support among Republicans, with 50.4% indicating they would vote yes.
•Green Thumb Industries has opened its tenth location in the Florida market and 86th nationwide. The new outpost, Rise Dispensary Sun City Center, joins existing Florida locations in Bonita Springs, Brandon, Deerfield Beach, Fruitland Park, Hallandale Beach, Kendall, Oviedo, Pinellas Park, and West Palm Beach, all of which offer delivery. Chicago-based Green Thumb is known for its Rythm premium flower and full spectrum vapes, Dogwalkers pre-rolls, Good Green flower, and &Shine flower, pre-rolls, vapes, and chews.
