November 15, 2023•Hotaling & Co. is launching a new duo of limited edition releases from Hirsch Selected Whiskies. The brand has introduced the third edition of Hirsch’s single barrel Bourbon, this release a blend of 70% 4-year-old Bourbon and 30% 5-year-old Bourbon, bottled at 55% abv and retailing for around $89. The other new LTO is the second edition of the brand’s Single Barrel Double Oak, a 9-year-old Bourbon at 56.25% abv, retailing for around $150. Both whiskies are available in limited quantities in 19 markets across the U.S.
•Winebow Imports is adding Australia’s Paxton Wines to its portfolio. Based in McLaren Vale, Paxton has approximately 200 acres of vineyards and is known for organic and biodynamic farming. Winebow will import Paxton’s McLaren Vale Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon varietals, as well as its Natural and Organic Wine (NOW) range Chardonnay and Shiraz, with all of the above line-priced at $20 a 750-ml.
•Michter’s is launching a 25-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon for the first time since 2020. Drawn from barrels selected by Michter’s master distiller Dan McKee and master of maturation Andrea Wilson, Michter’s 25-Year expression retails at $1,500 a 750-ml. While capitalizing on demand for high-end whiskies, Michter’s is also ramping up its overall output. “We’re making very significant capital expenditures to grow our production,” Joe Magliocco, Michter’s president, told SND earlier this year. Production for Michter’s has been centered at its 87,000-square-foot Shively distillery for eight years, which is now running 24/7, with the company also distilling at its Fort Nelson tourism hub in downtown Louisville.
•Goslings Rum is releasing Family Reserve Old Rum Rye Barrel Finish. The extension sees Goslings Family Reserve blend of aged rum finished in once-used rye whiskey barrels for three years. Starting this month, Goslings Family Reserve Old Rum Rye Barrel Finish (40% abv) is rolling out to select retailers, selling at $80 a 750-ml. Goslings also recently released Spirited Seas Ocean Aged Bermuda Rum, an experimental expression that is now part of the permanent portfolio, as well as a Dark ‘N Stormy canned cocktail range. Goslings is part of the Pernod Ricard-owned Castle Brands portfolio.
•Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Teremana Tequila is opening holiday pop-ups in Los Angeles and New York. The in-person Mana Holiday House experience will run from Thursday, November 30th through Friday, December 1st in Los Angeles at 1024 Lexington Rd, Beverly Hills, and in New York City at 632 Hudson St. on Tuesday, December 12th through Wednesday, December 13th. They’ll feature Teremana cocktails and bites, Tequila education and cocktail making sessions, and giveaways, among others. The brand is also hosting a Mana Holiday House online experience. Teremana has surpassed 1 million cases in the U.S. on a rolling annual basis.
