November 22, 2023•Rabbit Hole, part of the Pernod Ricard portfolio, has launched Amburana, the newest luxury whiskey from the Kentucky distillery. The whiskey, the seventh release in Rabbit Hole’s Founder’s Collection, takes 12-year-old Bourbon and finishes it in new Brazilian oak casks before bottling at 62.7% abv. The mashbill is 78% corn, 12% malted barley, and 10% rye. Only 2,176 bottles have been released to select retailers and accounts across the U.S. where it carries a suggested price of $1,100. In addition to retail, a limited number of bottles will be released through Rabbit Hole’s website to select markets. Rabbit Hole grew 6.5% to 40,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Shaw-Ross International Importers has extended its collection of Japanese alcoholic beverages, adding Maen whisky to the portfolio alongside Tyku and Gekkeikan sakes, and iichiko shochu. The new whisky is a blend of 20% malt whiskies and 80% grain whiskies (made from corn, rye, and barley) aged between three and five years in ex-Bourbon barrels. Maen is bottled at 43% abv and retails for around $65.
