December 13, 2023•Constellation Brands has released the second edition of Complicit from the Prisoner Wine Company. The 15.9% abv red blend is from the California appellation and is made from a combination of Zinfandel, Sangiovese, and Petite Sirah that’s partially aged in Bourbon and rye barrels from High West (also part of Constellation). The limited release is now available online and at the Prisoner Wine Company’s tasting room in St. Helena, California where it carries a suggested price of $100.
•Proximo Spirits has introduced a new Extra Añejo Tequila from Maestro Dobel, the second release in brand’s high-end Atelier collection. The new Tequila, the Trajineras Edition, is bottled at 40% abv and has aged for three years in a combination of American and European oak. The spirit comes in hand-painted bottles (available in five colors) with designs inspired by the boats of Xochimilco in Mexico City. Dobel’s latest carries a suggested price of $250 a bottle and is now available through ReserveBar and in limited retail distribution. Last year, Maestro Dobel was up over 25%, according to Impact Databank, reaching 135,000 cases in the U.S.
•Purchase, New York-based importer Kobrand Corporation has added Rhône Valley house Paul Jaboulet Aîné to its U.S. portfolio. The deal sees Kobrand handling 18 wines from the portfolio, including releases like by Parallèle 45 Côtes du Rhône, Domaine de Thalabert Crozes-Hermitage, and Hermitage La Maison Bleue. In addition to the established labels from the house, Kobrand will also import two of the domaine’s newest wines, La Chapelle and La Chapelle Blanc –Chevalier de Sterimberg, both bottled under the La Chapelle Hermitage collection.
