January 23, 2024•Santo Tequila, the brand from partners Guy Fieri and Sammy Hagar, is introducing a new national ad campaign called “A Reputation Earned.” Created by Kentucky-based agency PriceWeber, the new push plays up Santo’s dedication to authenticity and producing additive-free Tequila. It closely follows Santo’s introduction of a new bottle design last year. The Santo range includes Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Blanco 110 Tequilas, as well as Mezquila, a Tequila-mezcal hybrid.
•California winemaker Scheid Family Wines plans to add to its organic Grandeur Wines label with a Cabernet Sauvignon varietal this year. It will join a Rosé ($20) and Red Blend ($23) in the range. Last year, Scheid Family gained organic certification on 523 additional acres of wine grapes, bringing its total to over 600 certified acres. That makes the company the largest certified organic winegrape grower on the Central Coast. In addition to Grandeur, the Scheid Family portfolio includes Scheid Vineyards, Sunny with a Chance of Flowers, VDR (Very Dark Red), Fog & Light, Metz Road, District 7, Ryder Estate, and Hoxie, a wine spritzer.
•Australia’s Barramundi Wines has launched across 14 states, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Idaho, California, and Arizona. The range includes Weekender White Blend, Sauvignon Blanc, Trailblazer Red Blend, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon priced at $13 a bottle. Barramundi, owned by Australia’s Qualia Wines, has partnered with importer and distributor Swirlbev for the U.S. launch.
•Tokki Soju is debuting Garnet Label, which the company says is the first soju to be finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The 46% abv spirit is made from sticky rice in South Korea and is inspired by Speyside Scotch whiskies. The release is the fourth in Tokki’s core portfolio and joins the brand’s White, Black, and Gold Label spirits. Tokki Garnet Label carries a suggested price of $60 a 750-ml. and will hit store shelves in the U.S. in February.
