•Sazerac has teamed with rapper Quavo to release a new Cognac, White X. The 40% abv Cognac is marketed as a white Cognac that’s fresher and lighter than other brands and will launch on February 7 through BlockBar. That day, the first 100 bottles of White X will be sold with a commemorative box for $60 each. Following the online launch, White X will launch in Miami in February, Los Angeles in March, New York City in April, and Dallas in May before the brand makes its national debut in June.

•California’s Plata Wine Partners has acquired 14 retail-exclusive wine labels from Purple Brands for an undisclosed sum. The brands, made from grapes sourced from across California, include Donovan-Parke, Main & Geary, Athenaeum, Shiloh Road, and Adixion, among others. According to Plata, the acquisitions will push the company closer to producing 500,000 cases per year. Plata produces bulk and cased wine from its own vineyards located across Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara. The brands acquired from Purple are all available through the goPuff network, including in BevMo, as well as some regional retailers and in export markets.

•Boston Beer Company has expanded distribution for Slingers Signature Cocktails, bringing the malt-based beverage to consumers in Ohio, Vermont, and Las Vegas, as well as expanding its presence in Pennsylvania. The brand consists of three flavors—Bahama Mama, Peach Screwdriver, and Pineapple Punch—all at 8% abv and available in 24-ounce cans. The convenience store-focused brand will launch in Las Vegas and western Pennsylvania in February, and Ohio and Vermont in March.
