Exclusive: Gallo Adds Italy’s Girlan To Maze Row Portfolio

Gallo’s Maze Row Wine Merchant has added Alto Adige winery Cantina Girlan to its import portfolio, effective immediately. Girlan produces Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from 200 winegrowers farming roughly 220 hectares (544 acres) of vineyards in the region. The new agreement will see Maze Row import Trattmann Pinot Noir Riserva, Patricia Pinot Noir, Marna Chardonnay, and Indra Sauvignon, as well as Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay from Girlan’s Classici tier.

The collective’s wines range in price from $30 to $40, with Girlan’s Trattmann Pinot Noir Riserva topping out at $90. The wines will be available in select markets across the U.S. beginning in May. Gallo’s Maze Row portfolio also includes Bodega Lanzaga from Spain; Allegrini, Argiano, Brancaia, Jermann, Pieropan, Poggio al Tesoro, Ratti, and Tornatore from Italy; Saint Clair in Marlborough, NZ, and The Language of Yes, a collaboration with Randall Grahm from California’s Central Coast.—Shane English
