March 12, 2024•Hemp-derived THC seltzer Wynk has launched its latest flavor: Tangerine. The seltzer is available 6-ounce cans with 2.5-mg. of THC and 12-ounce cans with 5-mg. of THC. The new flavor joins Lime Twist, Black Cherry Fizz, and Juicy Mango in the brand’s portfolio. Wynk is currently available in retailers in 16 states and via DTC shipping in 33. Wynk’s parent company, Wherehouse Beverage Co., also produces Countdown, a higher-dose brand aimed at dispensary sales. SNDC recently caught up with general manager Phil McFarland.
•Texas retailer Spec’s has expanded its hemp-derived THC offerings by adding Pamos Cannabis Cocktails and Spirits to its roster of cannabis drinks. The Pamos portfolio covers Pamos Spirit, containing 80-mg. of THC and 32-mg. of CBD per bottle, and Pamos Microdose Spirit at 33-mg. of THC and 32-mg. of CBD, as well as a line of canned spritz cocktails in Long Island Iced Tea, Mai Tai, and Bellini flavors at strengths of 2-mg., 5-mg., and 10-mg. per can. Pamos’s products are now available at more than 200 Spec’s locations across Texas. Spec’s also recently introduced Delta-8 brand Hi Seltzer to its stores.
•Los Angeles-based Magic Cactus has partnered with Hi Touch Distribution to secure retail distribution in Southern California in retailers like Whole Foods, Erewhon, and Lazy Acres, among others. Magic Cactus produces canned “functional beverages” containing 2-mg. of delta-9 THC, 4-mg. of THCV, and 6-mg. of CBD in each can. The drinks come in two flavors, Watermelon Hibiscus and Lavender Raspberry, with 12-packs retailing for around $55 and 24-packs for $100. In addition, the company will release 4-packs to its growing retail footprint. Magic Cactus drinks are also available to independent retailers through B2B platform AirGoods and to consumers through the brand’s website.
•New Mexico’s cannabis market, combining adult-use retail and medical sales, has reached $1 billion in sales in less than two years since adult-use sales began in April 2022. Since then, the New Mexico Regulation & Licensing Department (NMRLD) reports $678.5 million in adult-use sales via 15.7 million transactions and $331.6 million in medical sales with 6.5 million transactions. NMRLD reports data from 1,050 retailers across the state and and has compiled data through February 2024, when the state reported $35.7 million in adult-use sales and $12.3 million in medical sales.
