April 2, 2024•Bacardi is relaunching Patrón XO Cafe liqueur as a limited release. Previously discontinued in 2021, the coffee liqueur is now returning due to consumer demand, the company says. Made with Patrón Silver Tequila and Arabica bean coffee sourced from the states of Veracruz and Chiapas, Patrón XO Cafe retails at $43 a $750-ml. and is bottled at 35% abv. It’s rolling out nationally in limited quantities.
•Proximo’s 1800 Tequila is introducing GuachiMonton, billed as the first luxury añejo Tequila aged in American and French Oak barrels and finished in orange Tequila liqueur casks. The upscale entry is packaged in a red ceramic trapezoidal-shaped keepsake bottle inspired by the pyramids and red clay found in the Unesco World Heritage site of Los Guachimontones. 1800 GuachiMonton is debuting first in California and Texas, retailing at $160 a 750-ml. bottle. 1800 grew 4.5% to 2.1 million cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Industry veteran Jenn Engel is returning to Banfi as chief commercial and strategy officer. Most recently chief customer and commercial officer at RNDC, she was also previously vice president of sales at Santa Margherita USA and prior to that was national business manager of fine wines, among other roles, at Banfi from 2008-2015. In her new role Engel will oversee Banfi’s sales and marketing, distributor relations, and help shape the strategic trajectory of the portfolio, working closely with CEO and proprietor Cristina Mariani-May.
•Bloomington, Indiana’s Oliver Winery has introduced two new sweet red wines, Cosmoberry and Dreamberry, both infused with fruit flavor. The pair retail for $15 a bottle and both are at 11% abv. The new wines are both made from a base of Concorde grapes with Cosmoberry infused with cranberry, blood orange, and strawberry flavors, and Dreamberry made with raspberry, lychee, and lime. Both wines are now available across the U.S.
