Campari Completes $1.3B Deal For Courvoisier

Campari Group has closed its previously announced acquisition of Courvoisier Cognac from Beam Suntory for up to $1.3 billion. The deal includes an initial $1.2 billion and an earnout of up to $120 million. The brand had net sales of $249 million in 2022, Campari said, with 60% based in the U.S. Impact Databank estimates Courvoisier’s U.S. depletions at 500,000 cases for 2023. Originally announced last December, the move for Courvoisier marks Campari’s biggest acquisition to date. —Daniel Marsteller
