May 22, 2024•Riboli Family Estates is launching Spritz Del Conte, an Aperitivo-style, ready-to-serve Italian Spritz. Spritz Del Conte includes two versions, a Classico (8.5% abv) and a Non-Alcoholic (<0.5% abv). Retailing at $15 a 750-ml., the ready-to-serve cocktail is meant to be poured over ice and garnished with an orange slice. The new entry is rolling out to major retailers nationally. Riboli Family’s largest brand, Stella Rosa, grew 4.8% to 4.2 million cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Jura single malt Scotch whisky is debuting a new expression, 14 Year Old American Rye Cask. Launching in select retailers across California, Florida, and Texas, Jura’s new 14-year-old is bottled at 80 proof and retails at $75 a 750-ml. A leading malt brand in the U.K., Jura is based on its namesake island a few miles off the western coast of Scotland. Spirit of Gallo handles Jura single malt in the U.S.
•Breakthru Beverage Group has appointed Darcy Traer as senior vice president, business development – Diageo. Since January 2023, Traer has served as vice president, United Division, Illinois, Breakthru’s largest Diageo market in North America. Prior to that, he served as EVP, Breakthru Canada. Additionally, Breakthru noted that Joshua Phillips will continue as vice president, business development – Moët Hennessy USA. Phillips joined Breakthru in 2020 after a long tenure with Moët Hennessy. Traer and Phillips will lead the distributor’s relationships with Diageo and Moët Hennessy respectively.
•Westland Distillery, part of Rémy Cointreau, has announced Colere Edition 4 American Single Malt, the latest release in Westland’s Outpost Range. Colere is Westland’s line of whiskies made using new and uncommonly used strains of barley. This edition is made using Fritz barley, a derivative of a strain developed at the Washington State University’s the Bread Lab. The whiskey is bottled at 50% abv and carries a suggested price of $150 a 700-ml. Only 3,084 bottles are rolling out now to select retailers across the U.S.
•E-commerce delivery platform Gopuff has unveiled its most popular wines over the last year, with Gallo’s La Marca and Deutsch’s Josh Cabernet Sauvignon taking the top two spots. The data covers March 2023 to March 2024 and shows that Delegat’s Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Moët Hennessy’s Veuve Clicquot, and Delicato’s Bota Box Sauvignon Blanc round out the top five most popular products. For up and coming releases, Gopuff points to Oyster Bay’s Pinot Grigio as the most-trending wine of the year, with sales through the service up 6,000% compared to the year before. Vinho Verde is Gopuff’s trendiest wine style, with sales up nearly 3,100%.
