•Spirit of Gallo has launched Heat Check, a new vodka brand that brings together the company’s New Amsterdam vodka with Hot Ones, the YouTube hot-sauce themed interview show. The 35% abv vodka is infused with the flavor and heat of Serrano, Fresno, and Habanero peppers and carries a suggested price of $11 a 750-ml. To promote the brand, Spirit of Gallo will sponsor an episode of Hot Ones set to air this summer.

•The Prisoner, part of the Constellation portfolio, is introducing a new edition in its Corrections series, releasing the 2021 Corrections Napa Valley Reserve. Retailing at $150 a 1.5-liter bottle, the new entry’s label showcases the work of Jesse Krimes, a Philadelphia-based artist who was formerly incarcerated and is the co-founder of The Center for Art and Advocacy, a non-profit organization that supports formerly incarcerated artists in the U.S. The Prisoner is contributing 5% of all Corrections sales to support The Center for Art and Advocacy. The Prisoner had U.S. volume of 285,000 cases last year, according to Impact Databank.

•Campari is backing Espolòn Tequila with the brand’s first global campaign, titled “To the Bone.” Billed as “a departure from the industry-standard backdrop of agave fields,” the campaign is shot in Mexico City by director and photographer Lou Escobar and emphasizes creativity and Mexican culture. Produced in partnership with creative agency ForceMajeur, it includes 30- and 15-second videos as well as 5- and 6-second cutdowns, along with visuals for out-of-home and digital. According to Impact Databank, Espolòn grew 23% to 1.4 million cases in the U.S. last year.

•Moët Hennessy is releasing a special magnum bottling of Richard Hennessy Cognac in honor of the Hennessy founder’s 300th birthday. The 40% abv Cognac is blended from Hennessy’s oldest and rarest eaux-de-vies. Made at Hennessy’s Atelier des Éditions Rares in Cognac, it’s packaged in a Baccarat crystal bottle designed by Daniel Libeskind featuring an engraved drawing of Richard Hennessy by Nicolas Ouchenir. The 1.75-liter bottle of Richard Hennessy is available for purchase through the brand for $22,000, with 110 bottles being released. Hennessy Cognac had U.S. volume of 3.1 million cases in 2023, according to Impact Databank.

•Bonterra Organic Estates has appointed Margaret Leonardi-Pruett as senior winemaker, helming the Bonterra Collection. Leonardi-Pruett most recently served as winemaker for fellow Concha y Toro USA brand Fetzer. She joins Sebastian Donoso on the Bonterra team. Donoso leads Bonterra’s Single Vineyard and Regenerative Organic Certified Estate Collections. The moves follow the retirement of Bonterra winemaker Jeff Cichocki. Additionally, the Bonterra Collection is receiving an updated label, highlighting the brand’s commitment to biodiversity with depictions of the flora and fauna found on the Bonterra estate. Bonterra’s U.S. volume stood at 470,000 cases last year, according to Impact Databank.
