July 8, 2024•Elizabethtown, Kentucky-based Whiskey House of Kentucky, the newest Bluegrass State distillery, has opened its doors and begun production. The company was founded by David Mandell, John Hargrove and Daniel Linde—founders of Bardstown Bourbon Company—and aims to be the most technologically advanced contract distiller in the state. On opening, the company is operating with a 48-inch custom still and 14 33,000-gallon fermenters, with annual production capacity of 7 million proof gallons (with an expansion to 14 million proof gallons set to be completed by 2027). Additionally, Whiskey House has plans to construct 33 rickhouses that can hold nearly 42,000 barrels each.
•Diageo has kicked off “Timeless Taste,” a new ad campaign promoting Seagram’s 7 Crown American blended whiskey. The campaign revisits and updates a series of 1970s-era Seagram’s ads, celebrating the brand’s history and most popular decade. The ads, which focus on summertime activities like barbecuing and tailgating, will run on social and digital channels through the rest of the year. Last year, Seagram’s 7 was at 1.5 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
