August 7, 2024•Riboli Family Wines has partnered with Breakthru Beverage in Delaware, Minnesota, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, with the markets coming online in early fall. Breakthru will carry Riboli’s full portfolio, led by 4.2-million-case Italian import Stella Rosa. The Riboli range also includes wines from the family’s estate vineyards in Paso Robles and Monterey including San Simeon, Highlands 41 Wines, Maddalena, and Opaque, as well as imports from its Avanti division. Riboli is linked with RNDC throughout most of the country.
•Napa Valley’s Lewis Cellars has launched a brand refresh, giving the label a new logo and branding ahead of Lewis unveiling its new tasting room on the Silverado Trail. The new logo features a prominent “L” overlapping a gold circle and will be used on all Lewis wines going forward. In addition to the refresh, the winery has renamed its Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The brand overhaul also includes a new website and Lewis’s first wine club, Lewis Insiders. The new packaging is debuting now with Lewis’s tasting room set to open late this year or early in 2025.
•Buzzballz has partnered with actor and musician Zack Fox for a new ad campaign centered around “Buzzballz Land.” In the commercials, the Abbott Elementary actor gives a tour of the fictional world where Buzzballz grow on trees, as well as two other spots where Fox explains why he’s in “Buzzballz Land” and raps for the Buzzballz trees. The campaign was created by Bacon & Eggs Media and will run on connected TV and social media through the end of the year. Buzzballz was purchased by Sazerac in March for an undisclosed sum. In 2023, the Buzzballz lineup, including the wine-based Chillers, and spirits-based Cocktails and Biggies, grew to nearly 2.8 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Prestige Beverage Group has announced French Oak, the latest release in 2XO Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey’s Oak series. The 46% abv Bourbon is distilled from a moderate-rye (18%) mashbill and was matured with charred French oak added to the barrels. This is the second release in 2XO’s Oak series, following last year’s American oak offering. 2XO’s French oak Bourbon carries a suggested price of $50 a bottle and is available nationwide. 2X0 sold 9,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
