October 2, 2024•Mary Dowling Whiskey, a partnership between Pernod Ricard and Rabbit Hole founder Kaveh Zamanian, is launching Winter Wheat ($55), a wheated Bourbon aged in toasted barrels. The 45.5% abv whiskey is the third offering in the Mary Dowling range, which also includes Double Oak Barrel ($135) and Tequila Barrel ($75). It’s rolling out now to select retailers across 18 U.S. markets.
•Dom Pérignon is releasing a special-edition Vintage 2015 honoring artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The special offering features artwork inspired by one of Basquiat’s most influential pieces, In Italian (1983), reflected in the design of three unique coffrets (gift boxes), each depicting a different section of the painting. When brought together, the coffrets reveal the full artwork. Debuting in select retailers this month, Dom Pérignon’s special-edition Vintage 2015 retails at $305.
•William Grant & Sons’ Hudson Whiskey is extending with a limited-edition New York Rye Whiskey Calvados Cask Finish. Launching nationwide, the new entry is a blend of 95% rye and 5% malted barley sourced from Hudson Valley farms. It spent at least 3.5 years in new American oak barrels before maturing for an additional 3.5 years in casks that previously held Calvados. Bottled at 46% abv, Hudson’s New York Rye Whiskey Calvados Cask Finish retails at $70 a bottle.
•Prestige Beverage Group’s 2XO Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has released the Sneakerhead Blend, the latest limited edition in the brand’s Icon Series. The new release is a blend of 60% high-rye Bourbon that received a second maturation in charred new oak barrels and 40% Bourbon distilled from a lower rye mash bill. The Sneakerhead Blend was developed by brand creator and master blender Dixon Dedman. The whiskey is bottled at 52% abv, carries a suggested price of $100 a bottle, and is now available in limited quantities across the U.S.
