Exclusive: Palm Bay Taps Industry Veteran Federighi For Top Sales Post
November 4, 2024New York-based importer and marketer Palm Bay International, owned by the Taub family, has appointed industry veteran Mark Federighi as chief sales officer, as it looks to ramp up growth moving forward. According to Impact Databank, Palm Bay ranks as the 10th-largest wine marketer in the U.S., with annual volume of 5.7 million cases.
Across a more than two-decade career in the industry, Federighi has served with Young’s Market Company, PepsiCo, Campari America, and Diageo, and began his career with Gallo. Most recently he was president of Stoli Group in the U.S., credited with transforming the sales organization and leading critical marketing initiatives. Before that he spent seven years as chief sales officer at O’Neill Vintners & Distillers, helping to lead a tenfold increase in top-line revenues.
The appointment comes as Palm Bay embarks on an “aggressive five-year growth plan,” and follows the company’s new strategic partnership with Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC), which covers an alignment of 31 states. Federighi is tasked with overseeing Palm Bay’s newly restructured wholesaler network across North America and managing its internal sales teams.
He’ll lead sales across a portfolio led by two Italian labels: 3.8-million-case Cavit and 1-million-case Roscato. Other key brands in the range include 200,000-case Lunetta Prosecco and Irish gin label Drumshanbo, which reached 64,000 cases last year. Palm Bay also handles luxury wines from Bertani, Ferrari Trento, Col d’Orcia, Rocca delle Macie, Fontanafredda, Planeta, Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Jean-Luc Colombo, Trimbach, and Saget La Perrière, among others.
In recent years, the company has also delved into California wines with labels like Taub Family Vineyards and Au Contraire, and expanded its spirits stable to include such entries as Jacob’s Pardon Bourbon, Tequila Bribon, Tommyrotter Distillery, and Dos Maderas rum, among others. –Daniel Marsteller
