Terlato Partners With Actress Taraji P. Henson To Boost Seven Daughters Brand
November 13, 2024Terlato Wine Group has partnered with actress and entrepreneur Taraji P. Henson, bringing the award-winner onboard as wine label Seven Daughters’ new strategic advisor and creative collaborator. From the new partnership comes a complete brand refresh for Seven Daughters, with Henson and Terlato reimagining the brand around the core tenets “Celebrate it All,” “Never Settle,” and “Strength in Numbers.”
As part of the new visual identity the brand will receive a new label and logo, alongside more personal design choices led by Henson. Seven Daughters had U.S. volume of just under 100,000 cases last year, according to Impact Databank.
The new label features a “7” done in watercolors as well as nods to Henson’s bulldog, Buddha, Henson’s favorite Prince song “Raspberry Beret,” and a comb to highlight the actress’s passion for haircare. The new design will appear on the 2023 vintage of Seven Daughters’ Moscato, which is at 7.5% abv and carries a suggested price of $15. “Through our collaboration, we are pleased to unveil the refreshed Seven Daughters Moscato and continue to build on enhancing brand visibility, deepening consumer connections, and driving growth in the Moscato category,” said Bill Terlato, president and CEO.
Terlato said the aim is to “breathe new life into the Moscato category,” which depleted nearly 11 million cases in the U.S. last year, despite continuing a steady decline from its high-water mark of 16 million cases. Terlato noted that Moscato has particular popularity among Black, Hispanic, and Asian consumers, and can continue to serve as a driving force in diversifying wine’s consumer demographic.—Shane English
