Willamette Valley Vineyards Hunts New CEO, Bernau To Remain Chairman And President

January 6, 2025

Oregon’s Willamette Valley Vineyards founder Jim Bernau has announced he intends to step back from the CEO position at the company, but will continue as chairman and president. Willamette Valley has commenced a search to fill the CEO role, in a move described as “part of Bernau’s succession plan.” Willamette Valley Vineyards produces about 260,000 cases annually and holds 1,000 acres of estate vineyards.

“The wine market is changing rapidly and I believe we need the additional horsepower of a new CEO and more field sales staff,” Bernau said. “I believe having the leadership of the company held by two separate persons will help invigorate our brand with distributors, retailers, and restaurants across the nation and help establish new markets across the world.” —Daniel Marsteller
