DoorDash To Deliver Hemp-Derived THC And CBD Products

January 14, 2025

E-commerce platform DoorDash has announced an expansion into hemp-derived THC and CBD products in select markets across the U.S. The move will add a new tab to the DoorDash app, featuring a selection of products available for delivery and sourced from chains that carry hemp-derived THC products like Total Wine & More and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, among others.

“With the growing demand for hemp-derived THC and CBD products, we’re excited to expand access to a wide selection of products consumers crave,” said Jacob Morello, Director, GM of Alcohol and Emerging Categories at DoorDash. “As preferences evolve, DoorDash can now help eligible customers find new products to safely enjoy while they unwind and recharge in the new year.”

DoorDash will, according to the company, keep these products out of underage consumers’ hands by using the same ID verification technology used to age-gate alcohol purchases. During the testing phase of hemp-derived THC and CBD sales, DoorDash says the most popular products were gummies, drinks, mints, and chocolates. To kick off the wider launch, the company has partnered with hemp-derived THC seltzer brand Cann to give consumers a $2 off coupon aimed at encouraging trial.—Shane English
