•Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has named Marty Crane executive vice president, subregional general manager for New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, effective February 1. In this new role Crane will report to Scott Oppenheimer, the distributor’s president, east region. Crane, who has been EVP-GM for New York, will remain responsible for that market until his successor is named and, with his expanded purview, will help integrate the recently acquired Horizon Beverage into Southern’s business, creating unified operations for Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Crane has been with Southern Glazer’s since 2016. Additionally, Southern Glazer’s has named Justin Sankey as SVP-GM, Massachusetts. Sankey was previously vice president, commercial operations, Florida.

Napa, California-based Butter Chardonnay has launched ButterLight Chardonnay, a new lower-calorie wine aimed at the low-alcohol and low-calorie markets. The new wine comes in at 85 calories per serving and at 8.5% abv. The new wine joins Butter’s Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir in the brand’s portfolio. The entire line retails for around $20.
