January 21, 2025•Frankfort, Kentucky’s Buffalo Trace Distillery, part of Sazerac, has announced the second iteration of the Prohibition Collection, its tribute to medicinal whiskey produced during America’s dry experiment. This edition of the collection contains five whiskies, all coming in 375-ml. bottles and carrying a suggested price of $1,000 per set. The whiskies are modern reimaginings of Mirror Brook, Very Oldest Procurable (V.O.P.), Anderson’s Belle, Old Fashioned Mountain Corn, and Silver Wedding Rye Whiskey, all labels bottled for medicinal purposes by the distillery, then known as the George T. Stagg Distillery. A limited number of collectible sets is now rolling out to retailers and the on-premise across the U.S.
•Kendall-Jackson has struck a multi-year deal to become the official wine partner of the NBA’s Denver Nuggets. The move follows similar partnerships launched with the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, and Orlando Magic. The deal will see Kendall-Jackson wines served at concessions, premium seating areas, and suites at the Nuggets’ Ball Arena. Kendall-Jackson has U.S. volume of approximately 3 million cases, according to Impact Databank.
•Texas-based importer BCI is launching Suze Tonic Zero, a new non-alcoholic offering from the France’s Suze aperitif brand. Suze Tonic Zero is debuting in several states this month starting with New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Washington, and will be rolled out nationwide through 2025. The brand sells at $5 a 250-ml. Led by industry veteran Jean-Francois Bonneté, the BCI portfolio also includes Coquerel Calvados, Gabriel Boudier Liqueurs, Boomsma Genevers, Coutanseaux Cognac, and Frerejean Freres Champagne, among others.
