WhistlePig Adds 10-Year Bourbon, Opens Kentucky Outpost
January 30, 2025Vermont-based WhistlePig, known for rye whiskies, is introducing a new Bourbon expression, and will be opening a new brand outpost—The WhistlePig PiggyBank—in Louisville, Kentucky this summer. The new offering is Snout-to-Tail Bourbon Aged 10 Years, retailing at $90 and bottled at 88 proof. Its finishing process includes barrels with two different barrel heads—a Vermont oak medium toast at “the snout” end and a Vermont oak smoked maple wood toast at “the tail.”
WhistlePig’s new Louisville location will be based at 403 E. Market St., originally built as a bank and once containing the largest bank vault in Kentucky. The WhistlePig PiggyBank will include a Vault housing rare and collectible whiskies. Plans also call for experiential offerings for consumers, tastings, and a “big pig bar” highlighting the brand’s offerings. Moët Hennessy took a minority stake in WhistlePig in 2020.
Earlier this month, WhistlePig announced the departure of CEO Jeff Kozak after a 10-year tenure. Stepping into the role of interim CEO is Marty Birkel, an industry veteran with experience at Constellation Brands and Gallo, and a current member of WhistlePig’s board.—Daniel Marsteller
