Foley Expanding U.S. Rollout For Two Stacks Irish Whiskey

January 31, 2025

Last year, Foley Family Wines & Spirits welcomed Two Stacks Irish whiskey to its import portfolio as it continues to build out its spirits stable. Now, the company—which is aligned nationally with Southern Glazer’s—is expanding Two Stacks distribution to 19 U.S. markets, with full national coverage expected by the end of the year.

Two Stacks is leading with its First Cut Signature Blend Irish whiskey, which retails at $38 a 700-ml. and was distilled at Great Northern Distillery. The brand also markets a 100-ml. “Dram in a Can” variant ($5) in a recyclable aluminum can that’s meant to encourage trial. First Cut includes some peated and double-distilled malt whiskies, and adds nuance to the standard Irish whiskey profile, cofounder Shane McCarthy tells SND.

“We’re on a mission to change the landscape of Irish whiskey, and show that the category can be more than just triple-distilled and smooth,” he says. “There’s 50-plus operating distilleries in Ireland and we want to show their breadth and bring more flavor to the space.” While Great Northern is a key supplier, Two Stacks sources from 17 distilleries across Ireland, also including Killowen, Boann, Adara, Dingle, and Echlinville. Two Stacks is projected to be at about 25,000 cases globally this year, with ample supply to continue expanding moving forward.

While First Cut is the lead product, the Two Stacks portfolio also includes an Irish cream liqueur for which the company has high hopes. The cream liqueur is Two Stacks’ biggest-selling product globally after only a year and a half on the market, notes cofounder Donal McLynn, adding that it “encompasses a larger demographic” and has strong potential for growth.

In addition to Two Stacks, Foley’s rapidly expanding spirits portfolio also includes Minden Mill Distilling, Charles Goodnight Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey, New Zealand’s Lighthouse Gin, El Mexicano Tequila, and Scotland’s Loch Lomond Group.—Daniel Marsteller
