News Briefs for February 26, 2025
February 26, 2025- Bacardi’s Patrón has kicked off a “100% Additive-Free Tequila” campaign, a new marketing push focused on educating consumers on the Tequila’s ingredients and lack of additives. The campaign is focused on out-of-home ads in major U.S. cities, including advertising partnerships with major public transit hubs for services like the New York/New Jersey PATH train and Chicago’s CTA. In addition, the campaign features truck wraps and other mobile advertisements. Last year, Patrón declined 5.9% to 2.5 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
- Brown-Forman has released Jack Daniel’s 14-Year-Old Tennessee whiskey, the oldest whiskey the brand has bottled in roughly 100 years. Made from a mash of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, it’s bottled at 63.15% abv and mellowed through maple charcoal like all of Jack’s Tennessee whiskies. Two additional extra-aged whiskies are also being launched: Batch 3 of Jack’s 12-year-old whiskey and Batch 4 of the brand’s 10-year-old. The 12-year-old is bottled at 53.5% abv and the 10 is at 48.5% abv. The trio are rolling out across the U.S. in limited quantities in 700-ml. bottles. The 14-year-old whiskey carries a suggested retail price of $150, while the 12 goes for $95, and the 10 for $85. Last year, Jack Daniel’s was at 4.96 million cases in the U.S., excluding flavors.
- Proximo Spirits’ Tincup Whiskey has updated its portfolio with three new releases, two permanent and one limited edition. The permanent additions—Tincup Bourbon and 6-Year Original American Whiskey—are priced at $25 and $28, respectively, and aim to expand the brand’s presence at more affordable price tiers. The 6-year-old whiskey is the brand’s new replacement for previous flagship release Tincup Original. The limited release, exclusive to Colorado, is a 10-year-old rye whiskey at 50% abv.
