April 18, 2025•Luxco has released a new luxury priced Tequila, Escasa, across the U.S. The brand is initially launching with Blanco expression, with Reposado following this summer. The Tequilas are made from agave harvested from single estates, with the company planning to rotate sources of agave year-to-year. Both releases are bottled at 40% abv, with Escasa Blanco retailing for a suggested price of $100 and the Reposado for $120. Escasa joins Exotico and El Mayor in Luxco’s Tequila portfolio.
•Hatozaki Whisky has launched a new expression in the U.S., Triple Cask Reserve. The brand, imported by Marussia Beverages USA, produces its whiskies at the Kaikyō Distillery in southern Japan. The new release is bottled at 46% abv and made from whiskies matured in Bourbon and Sherry casks before receiving a six-month finish in Umeshu plum liqueur barrels. Triple Cask joins Hatozaki Finest and Small Batch whiskies in the brand’s U.S. portfolio. Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve carries a suggested price of $75 a 750-ml.
•Rémy Cointreau has announced a new limited-edition bottling of Rémy Martin XO, made in collaboration with artist Anish Kapoor. The bottling carries a suggested price of $190 a 700-ml. and features a reimagining of the Cognac’s traditional bottle, with a concave center showing off the XO designation. The smooth glass and other design elements, according to the company, are meant to amplify light. Rémy Martin XO x Anish Kapoor will be available in select retail across the U.S. Rémy Martin had U.S. volume of 622,000 cases last year, according to Impact Databank, of which the XO expression comprised 8,500 cases.
•Diageo has kicked off “Beyond the Smoke,” a new marketing campaign for Islay single malt Lagavulin. The campaign was created with Uncommon Creative Studio and, for its lead ad, shows the journey from a Brooklyn bar to a diorama of Lagavulin’s distillery created by Mutabor Practical Effects and narrated by longtime Lagavulin fan and actor Nick Offerman. The “Beyond the Smoke” campaign will run on social media and digital channels and in print, and digital publications. Lagavulin has had U.S. volume of approximately 50,000 cases in recent years.
