June 17, 2025•Sunderstorm has launched a new line of edibles under the Kanha brand. The Rosin Sours line comes in three flavors—Sour Island Breeze, Sour Berry Bliss, and Sour Melon Rush—with each gummy at 10-mg and 10 gummies per pack. The new releases are made with nano emulsion technologies allowing for a 15-minute onset time and greater absorption than traditional edibles. Kanha Rosin Sours are now available in California, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Illinois. In addition, the company will celebrate its 10th anniversary with the Bliss Sessions, a series of live events across Kanha’s distribution footprint.
•New York’s Cannabis Control Board has a new head, with the state Senate confirming Jessica Garcia following the abrupt departure of previous chair Tremaine Wright. Garcia has served on the board since 2021 and was appointed by Governor Kathy Hochul. Wright’s departure followed the elimination of the chair’s $229,000 annual salary. Outside of her leadership in New York’s cannabis market, Garcia works as the assistant to the president of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, which covers retail, supply chain, and health care workers.
•The Cannabist Company and Coast Cannabist have teamed up, bringing Coast’s edibles to select dispensaries in Maryland. Initially, the partnership will bring gummies like Coast’s Raspberry Lime (with THCv) and the Sleep Suite, a line of CBN-infused gummies in flavors like Blueberry, Cranberry Pomegranate, and Grape. In the coming months, the two companies will expand Coast’s offerings in Maryland to include chocolates. The Cannabist Company operates three dispensaries in Maryland, in Rockville, Chevy Chase, and Frederick.
•Nowadays, the hemp-derived THC beverage brand, has formed a new partnership with the Palm Tree Crew, signing on as a sponsor of the DJ Kygo-founded group’s arts and cultural events across the U.S. The partnership officially launched in early May at the Palm Tree Crew’s Miami F1 event and will cover the Palm Tree Music Festival Hamptons on June 21, the PTC Miami Sunset Party this fall, PTC’s activations at Art Basel Miami Beach in December, and the PTC Music Festival Aspen in February 2026. Additionally, the brand will co-host a year-long residency series in Miami that kicks off on July 3. Nowadays will offer tastings and educational programming at each event.
