Pernod Embarks On Restructuring Effort
June 20, 2025Pernod Ricard has begun a restructuring effort aimed at simplifying its business, with the company planning to split its portfolio into two units, one including whiskies, Champagnes, and Cognac, and the other housing other spirits and aperitifs, the Financial Times reported. The French drinks giant also intends to streamline some of its back-office and administrative functions.
The move follows similar cost-cutting efforts by industry peers such as Brown-Forman, Moët Hennessy, Campari, and Diageo. Pernod saw sales decline 4% to €8.5 billion ($9.6b) in the nine months through March, representing the first three quarters of its fiscal year, which the company called “a resilient net sales performance in a global macroeconomic and geopolitical environment which remains challenging and very fluid with regards to tariffs.” Pernod is expecting sales to decline in the low single digits for its full fiscal year ending this month.
