•Monterey County, California’s Scheid Family Wines has announced that Regal Wine Co. will take over as the winery’s California distributor, effective immediately. The full transition to Regal, founded by Jackson Family Wines proprietor Barbara Banke and the late Jess Jackson, is set to be completed by August 1 and will see the distributor handle Scheid’s portfolio, which includes Scheid Vineyards, Sunny With a Chance of Flowers, Grandeur, and Fog & Light, among others. Last year, Scheid’s Sunny With a Chance of Flowers was up 2.8% to 110,000 cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.

•Hotaling & Co. has added two new whiskies to Old Potrero’s California Cellar Collection. The first whiskey, Old Potrero Toasted Barrel Rye Whiskey Finished in Gundlach Bundschu Gewurztraminer Barrels, is bottled at 57.3% abv and aged for five years and eight months, with a 14-month finish in the wine barrels. The second whiskey, Old Potrero Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Almanac Beer Co. Imperial Stout Oak Barrels, comes in at 57.5% abv and six and a half years before a five-month finish in the Stout casks. Both whiskies are “highly allocated,” according to the company and both carry a suggested price of $80 a 700-ml.
