•The U.S. Senate has advanced President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Drug Enforcement Agency. The vote pushes Terrance Cole to a final confirmation vote before the Senate. Cole has stated that rescheduling cannabis is a priority for him but it’s unclear whether he’s in favor of moving cannabis to the less restrictive schedule 1. In the past Cole has said that he’s firmly against federal legalization for cannabis. Cole advances to a final vote on a 44-43 split, with the final vote expected this morning.

•Burlington, Vermont’s Upstate Elevator has released a new hemp THC infused Ruby Red Ranch Water Spritz. The cocktail contains 10mg of THC and is also made with a selection of mushrooms including 22mg of Lion’s Mane, 88mg of Cordyceps, and 440mg of Reishi. The new drink joins Yuzu Lemonade Spritz in Upstate’s portfolio of adaptogen and THC seltzers and is available in 12-ounce cans. Ruby Red Ranch Water is rolling out now to retailers in Minnesota, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, New Jersey, Illinois, and Ohio, with further retail availability to come.

Cannabis sales in Missouri reached $125 million for June, putting the state on track to see roughly $1.5 billion sales for 2025. According to the state’s Division of Cannabis Regulations, $111 million in sales came from the state’s adult-use market with $14 million coming from medical sales. Year-to-date, according to the state, cannabis sales have reached $754 million. If sales trends continue, Missouri will set a new record for cannabis sales in 2025, exceeding 2024’s total of $1.46 billion. For Q2, which ended in June, the state says that sales were up 3.7% over Q1 and 5.6% year-over-year, with June averaging $4.17 million in sales per day. Since cannabis sales began, Missouri has seen sales exceed $4 billion.

•Tennessee-based Ounce of Hope has launched a new line of 30mg hemp THC seltzers. The new drinks come in Peach Buzz and High Lime flavors and are the first brand extensions since the flagship 5mg Ounce of Hope seltzers launched. The seltzers are sugar free and are made without artificial flavors. Ounce of Hope’s 30mg seltzers are now available through the brand’s website.
