August 19, 2025•California’s Riboli Family Wines has promoted Paul Roberts to chief commercial officer, effective immediately. Previously, Roberts served as senior vice president of sales at the company. In his new role, Roberts will continue to shape Riboli’s sales operations while adding on new duties covering the company’s overall commercial strategy and market development plans. Riboli’s portfolio is led by Stella Rosa, the second-largest imported wine brand in the U.S. at 4 million cases, according to Impact Databank.
•Napa Valley-based Shafer Vineyards has appointed Southern Glazer’s as its distributor across 10 states, with the transition expected to be complete by September 19. The deal will see Southern Glazer’s represent Shafer Vineyards across Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Shafer said the move will “strengthen the winery’s ability to connect with fine wine enthusiasts and collectors across key U.S. markets.” Based in Napa’s Stags Leap District, Shafer was acquired by Korean luxury firm Shinsegae Property for a reported $250 million in 2022. The winery has 240 acres of vineyards and produces 30,000 cases annually.
•Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky, part of the William Grant & Sons portfolio, is introducing a 16-year-old limited edition as part of its multi-year partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One team. Incorporating whiskies from American oak wine casks, new American barrels, and second-fill Bourbon casks, the new entry is bottled at 43% abv and retails at $75 a bottle. It’s rolling out globally next month. Glenfiddich has annual U.S. volume of approximately 190,000 cases, according to Impact Databank.
