September 2, 2025•After four decades of silence, one of Speyside’s lost distilleries is poised to make a return. Coleburn Distillery, mothballed since 1985, will be reborn as The Distillery at Coleburn—a modern whisky production site with historic roots and a projected annual capacity of one million liters of pure alcohol. At the helm of the distillery’s revival will be Keith Cruickshank, former master distiller at Benromach. The revival is being led by D&M Winchester Ltd, owned by brothers Dale and Mark Winchester, who purchased the Coleburn buildings in 2004. Whisky Advocate has more.
•The Duckhorn Portfolio has struck a sponsorship deal for its Decoy brand in which it will become the Official Wine Partner for the Television Academy’s 77th Emmy Awards season. As part of a new multi-year agreement, Decoy will be the exclusive wine poured at the 77th and 78th Emmy Awards. According to the company, the accord marks the launch of Decoy’s new brand platform, “Pour to What’s Possible,” which is “designed to connect with consumers on an emotional level, positioning Decoy as a catalyst for moments of personal progress, sparking connections, and chasing new possibilities.” Decoy has U.S. volume of 1.5 million cases annually, according to Impact Databank.
