•Diageo has released Buchanan’s Green Seal, a new upscale addition to the blended Scotch’s portfolio. The new whisky is bottled at 40% abv and, according to the company, includes never-before-released single malt from Glen Elgin, as well as experimental stocks and whiskies aged in ex-Bourbon barrels. Green Seal carries a suggested price of $100 a bottle and Diageo will accompany the launch with social and digital content aimed at Latin American communities across the U.S. Last year, Buchanan’s was at 710,000 cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.

•Limited editions from Angel’s Envy, a wheated Bourbon from O.H. Ingram, and a new Colorado Bourbon from Laws are among the new releases in the latest weekly roundup from Whisky Advocate. The website has all the details.

•Maryland’s Sagamore Spirit, part of Disaronno International USA, has announced 10-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey, the latest addition to the distiller’s Reserve Series. The whiskey is bottled at 55.4% abv and aged entirely in charred new American oak barrels. The new release is rolling out now to select retailers across the U.S. carrying a suggested price of $80. In addition to limited distribution, the rye will be available for purchase at the brand’s Baltimore distillery.

•Heaven Hill has expanded its roster of cask strength whiskies with the new Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Rye. The initial batch—A925—comes in at 54% abv and aged for 12 years and three months before bottling. The new release carries a suggested price of $75 a bottle and is debuting now across the U.S. Like Heaven Hill’s other cask strength bottlings, three batches of the Barrel Proof Rye will be available every year. Last year, Elijah Craig was up 3.4% to 541,000 cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
