WSWA Sees Tequila Decelerating, Whiskey Improving
October 20, 2025WSWA’s SipSource has released a new forecast for the spirits industry, projecting a 4.39% decline for total core spirits through the end of 2025, with the category expected to show “stabilizing negative growth rates for most classes” through the first three quarters of next year.
On a category level, Tequila and agave spirits are forecasted to see growth rates flatten by the end of the year before dipping into decline by Q3 2026. The group notes that while Tequila’s performance is projected to be in negative territory, it will still be among the best performing core spirits categories for the next year. SipSource adds that the market for whisk(e)y in the U.S. is improving, with the category showing some recovery from stiff losses in 2024.—Shane English
