News Briefs for October 29, 2025
October 29, 2025•Suntory Global Spirits has announced the release of Knob Creek 21 Year Old, the latest expression bottled by the brand. The 50% abv Bourbon will be available for the holiday season as a limited time offering carrying a suggested price of $250. The barrels chosen for the whiskey aged in rackhouses across the James B. Beam Distillery’s campus and were hand selected by the company’s master distillers. Last year, Knob Creek was at 508,000 cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Diageo has filed a motion to dismiss the Florida agave class-action lawsuit related to Don Julio and Casamigos Tequilas, which alleged the Tequilas are not 100% agave as advertised. Diageo says the complaint’s theory “rests entirely on incomplete and vaguely described results from a single European company’s ‘test’ that has no scientifically proven or even demonstrated applicability to Tequila,” adding that the test was performed on one sample of Casamigos and one sample of Don Julio, neither of which plaintiffs themselves purchased. “The allegations are implausible, lacking legal and logical merit,” said a Diageo spokesperson. “The plaintiffs hinge their allegations on a scientifically unvalidated test; this is simply copycat conjecture based on other sham complaints. As previously stated, we are confident in our defense as all bottled Casamigos and Don Julio Tequilas labeled as ‘100% agave’ are just that.”
